... among countries of origin for foreign students studying in the United States. This is for 2003-2004 according to the Chronicle of Higher Education, August 26, 2005 issue. Given that the one year rate of change for Nepali students was +17.6% (one of the highest growth rates), it would not surprise me if Nepal ranked #20 or so for 2005-2006. For those of you who are interested, here's the full ranking. Some I found surprising, some not... 1 India 2 China 3 South Korea 4 Japan 5 Canada 6 Taiwan 7 Mexico 8 Turkey 9 Thailand 10 Indonesia 11 Germany 12 Britain 13 Brazil 14 Colombia 15 Kenya 16 Hong Kong 17 Pakistan 18 France 19 Malaysia 20 Nigeria 21 Venezuela 22 Russia 23 Jamaica 24 NEPAL 25 Morocco 26 Singapore 27 Peru 28 Bulgaria 29 Argentina 30 Trinidad & Tobago 31 Spain 32 Saudi Arabia 33 Israel 34 Philippines 35 Romania 36 Italy 37 Ghana 38 Bangladesh 39 Vietnam 40 Sweden 41 Poland 42 Australia 43 Ecuador 44 Iran 45 Lebanon 46 Greece 47 Bahamas 48 Ukraine

Arnico, That's a very interesting statistics for us Nepalis. Do you have the total number of students (for each of the countries lsted)? I don't have access to Chronicle of Higher Education. Thanks for bringing this fact to Sajhaites' knowledge.
