With frank lampard out, England played a dismal 3-0 against lowly andorra. Do you think if lampard was involved, more goals would have followed. Or do you think Frank and Stevie G should play one at a time just like Batistuta and Hernan crespo( 2 quality strikers during that time) played. What do you think is England's best 11 and formation. Enjoy and Get your brains out football freaks!!!!!!

If both of them cannot get going together and if I were the coach, I would prefer Gerrard to Lampard. Gerrad is the pillar for liverpool and he knows how to get the best out of team mates. On the other hand, Lampard is surrounded by international stars all the time in chelsea and he is not as important to chelsea as is Gerrard to liverpool. So I would go with gerrad if I had to choose one...but thts what I think ..pls do feel free to comment.. Sparrow

against andorra, lampard was dropped,so gerrard played in the central midfield role,he single handadly roused england from their first half slumbers, scoring two second half goals.gerrard is the one truly world class player englad have.

Rooney has been given a break for ages now...I cant recall when was the last time he scored for england. May be more than 2 years..he might be performing for the club but when he performs for endland he is simply awful. Sparrow

I think gerrard is more of striker and Lampard is more of playmaker. Both are good at their position.

Lampard may be the highest scoring midfielder in EPL but if you look at the value of the player to the team Gerrard is definately more important to liverpool compared to Lampard. Liverpool would do awful without gerrard but chelsea can still win matches without Lampard..so t Sparrow

I would choose Stevie G instead of Frank Lampard.......dats all i can say...lampard is the highest midfield goal scorer onli coz he is with chelsea...if he was with clubs like watford or charlton....he would hardly get a goal in a season.....if stevie Gerrard was not a scouser and if i was Sir Ferguson i would have brought him to Man Utd a long long time ago hahahahhaha........here comes my new england squad.... Formation 4 - 4 - 2 goal keeper - Paul Robinson (although he does some blunder mistakes sometime) right defender - Gary Neville Left defender - Ashly cole (cashley cole) Centre defender - John Terry (Captain) Centre defender - Rio Ferdinand (The solid rock any centre defender could be) Right wing - Lennon ( for da pace and skill....not for da crossing though) Left wing - Joe Cole (injured at da moment) Central midfield - Stevie Gerrard (F.A.N.F.U.K.I.N.G.T.A.S.T.I.C) Centre midfield - Owen Hargreeves centre forward - Wayne Rooney (the destroyer...mixture of...speed...skill..power..) Centre forward - Andy Johnson Manager - Harry Reddnap Subs Jammie Carrager(He is good but Rio n Terry are better) Micheal Carrick (a good defending midfielder but england don't need one wid strong back 4) Frank Lampard (incase any of the midfielder gets injured otherwise a big no) Alan Smith (he is back after his horrible injury..he needs a break in now) Foster Green (he has become a great goalie in short time) love ghundruk ko jhol

Gerrard, in my mind, is the best player England has in its roster right now. He is a terrific playmaker and has scored some stunning goals. Lampard, on the other hand like Rooney, has been inconsistent in his International duties. I think that the biggest problem England has right now is a lack of quality goal-scorers. England fans are missing Michael Owen more than ever. Who is your favorite striker? I am a huge Crespo fan and believe that he is the most dangerous player inside the penalty box.

Lampard started picking up his game after the arrival of big name players when Chelsea was taken over by Abrahamovic. He's been a fascinating player for Chelsea for the past 3 seasons but Gerrad is incomparable to him. Gerrard is the best English player at the moment. He scores, creates, passes, dribbles and tackles. There's no reason why someone except a chelsea fan would pick Lampard over Gerrard. PS Gerrard is a HOLDING midfielder NOT a PLAYMAKER as some people have stated in here. It's his qualities of passing and taking freekicks and being useful in set pieces that might have caused some people to think that he's a playmaker. Deco, Kaka, Riquelme, Aimar and Scholes are playmakers while Essien, Makalele, Mascherano, Gerrard and Emerson are holding midfielders.
