अमेरिकाबाट बिहे गर्न नेपाल गयको केटाले केटीले योग्यता ढाटेको भनी बिहे गर्दिन भन्दा कुटाइ खाइ ५ लाख जरिवाना तिर्नुपरेछ । अब यस्मा दोसी को?

I have had a similar incident in my neighbourhood.

One deaf and dumb son of a rich manwas engaged with a lady from out of valley. The lady knew his disabilities. The guy is one of the most respected in his circle as he is a teacher of sign language and is really good looking. The guys family knew very few about the gal. As they were happy that a normal gal agreed to marry their disabled son. But a week after the engagement, the family heard the gal was a highway prostitute. They tried to find the reality. And what they heard was the truth.

They wanted to terminate the wedding. There was a big dispute among two sides. The gals side was very filthy people to deal with, as I saw them swearing publicly. It was hard for the guys family to handle that. Finally they paid a ransom of 1 Lakh and terminated the wedding.
I still feel bad for that nice family and the deaf/dumb gentleman, who I respect as well.

खै मेरो आँखा फुट्या हो कि, साथीहरु अली बढी अमेरिकनाइज्ड भाहो, तर मेरो बिचरामा हाम्रो नेपालाँ एकपटक टिकाटाला लाइसकेपछी बिहे जस्तो कुरोलाई ख्यालख्यालमा फेरी गर्दिन भन्न पाइन्न। केटीको साइडका मान्छेले दुनियाँलाई "ल हाम्री छोरीको लालप्रसाद संग बिहे हुनी भो" भन्दै हिंडे होलान, अब फेरी केटा खोज्न हिंड्न सजिलो नि हुँदैन। केटोले पत्रकारलाई केटीले "ढाँटी" भनेपनी हामीलाई ठ्याक्क के भाको भन्ने कुरो थाहा छैन। अनी "ढाँट्ने" भन्ने कुरो नि सबैले सबैलाई ढाँट्छन। राम्रो कुरो हैन ढाँट्नु, तर नेपालाँ बिहे गर्दा "ढाँट्ने" चलन साधारण नै हो, त्यसैले राम्ररी खोजिनिती गर्नु पर्छ टिकाटालो गर्नु अगाडि भन्छन। म आँफै पनि कुनै केटी मन परेर बिहे गर्छु भन्ने भैसकेपछी फेरी 'लौ, ब्याक लाग्या रैछ ' भन्दैमा नाईँ भन्छु होला जस्तो लाग्दैन। मन नपरी बिहे गरिदैन, मनपरेपछी त्यस्तो सानो कुरो मा दंगाफसाद गरिदैन।

केटीको पक्षले पिटपाट नगरेको भए हुने हो, तर केटाले पनि बिहे जस्तो कुरोलाई त्यस्तो ख्यालख्याल लिन नहुने हो। घरमा छोरी भएको परिवारलाई थाहा हुन्छ, एकपटक बिहे गर्ने भनेर टिकाटालो गरेको छोरी फेरी बिहे गराउन कती गार्‍हो हुन्छ भनेर।

I do not agree with Pire.
Why should someone accept someones lies? If I was lied by someone, I wont go ahead to get married with taht person and spend my life. I do not think that will work. I wont think of others life, I will think of my life first. How can a relation that starts from lies go ahead and go well too? Telling lies before wedding is one of the main reason of arrange marriage not being unsuccessful. It happens so frequently in our society.

I have full understanding of our social concept but one have to act wisely to not to be in problem. If you have any fault, you should  tell it. If both parties agree than it will go ahead if not it wont. Its very simple. But I understand the problem of being rejected by many possible candidates too. Common, you have to be good  enough to get any job, than why dont you have to be good enough to be life partner of someone?

So telling lies to make up wedding is not a good practice at all, for whatever the reason.

Just liek Pire had said who knows why guy changed his mind? May be he found someone better...?? Marriage is not like shopping in the mall. You get engaged and go out and tell everyone you are gettign married and then after sometime you get bored and think I don't want her. I think this other one is much better...It is not like buyign in stores. In Nepal people go with the flow of society...I knwo sometimes guys side can think they can do whatever they want. I am sure in this issue there are other factors involved or who will go on beating people like such...I agree with pire 100%. When you agree to marry someone you have to check record before clicking OK.!

the guy has said that the girl later (after engagement) called the guy's family and told that she had not passede the first and second years examinations of bachelor study. Even if there is some hidden reason for the guy to discard the girl, this statement must be true since the girl's side has not yet defended that they did not lie about her education.

then the education of the girl itself or or lying about it is not a simple issue that can be compromised or tolerated at least for a guy who is living or studying in the US or wherever and dreaming of having an educated family. If the girl did not pass the first and second years exams, then she is not a good girl in education who would straightly pass the third year exam and there is no guarantee that she would pass the first and second years in the next time and join her husband in the US soon. The guy might have planned that he would bring his wife to US after she would appear third year's exam within 4-5 months. But the woman he was engaged with is unlikely to pass third years exam and he had to wait longer, maybe even 3-4 years if she would pass her all the exams and join him in the US as there is no chance that she would be going back to Nepal every year to write the exams. This means the guy would be marrying just a woman with +2 equivalent. Next, where does Rs 5 lakhs come from for an average person living in the US? Is is so easy for one in the US to make that much money?

Here, the problem is 1) education, and even bigger problem is 2) lying attitude. Can you tolerate a person whom you knew made you fool by lying about something? Do you think your life can go easily with a woman like her who dares to lie and cheat you about one or more things?  

What an unjust and unfortunate decision of a society to beat up and further charge 5 lakhs to the guy while he seems to be innocent?????????

GUys I watched it live on Avenues Televison. Here is the story

The guy who won the DV lottery few years ago came to Nepal to get married.

Before the marriage he came to know that family of a girl(or lami) had lied him about the education of the girl.

After knowing this the guy refused to marry the girl.The family of guy beat him and demanded( and took) the money.What intresting is the girl was laughing, talking on mobile phone  and counting the money as this story unfolds. Whats surprising is the money was taken from the guy in presense of the Nepal Police.

Think 1000 times guys before you come to Nepal to get married.

 

I still could not get what exactly happened? What is the 5 lakh penalty for?  Who was to blame first deceiving or  for ठ्याक (as in Gt's word). I guess he didn't ठ्याक without her consent and involvement. And don't u guys think he need to be paid back for his hard labor too.... lol

so unjustice keti lai hoina, keto lai nai pareko ho bhanne malai lagchha. Bichara Lal Prasad ko ek barsha ko hard earned money swaha........... Nepal jau aau garda arko 2-3 lakh pani swaha...
