I am in great dilemma. I need to go to Nepal by the end of the year. I got H1B approved in Feb 2011 with my Masters in Information Management. I am confused where I should get my stamping done in Nepal, Canada or Mexico. I heard that they are rejecting lot of application in India and China these days. I don't know what is the case in Nepal. If you guys have some recent experience about your first time stamping please do share that. Thank you so much for your time.

I was hired by and work for a company. It is not a consultancy or through a consultancy. I am little worried because during my OPT when I didn't have a job I had to get a offer letter (not a job) to extend my OPT. After getting the offer letter I was unemployed for 5 months before I got my current job. I am worried if at the time of H1B stamping what if they ask me why I didn't worj for 5 months after I got the offer. Has anyone of you been through the similar situation. Please share that information. Also, share your experience about your first time H1B stamping from Nepal, Canada or Mexico. Have you heard of anyone who was rejected due to certain reason? Your help will be greatly appreciated by lot of us here.

My lawyer suggested it was a "safer" option getting stamped in Nepal. Didnt have any issues.. you'll be fine. Its not as bad people make it sound - of course make sure you've got all your documents n stuff. Have a nice vacation :)

 Lahure boi,
I was kind of in the same situation when I applied for H1B visa, I wasn't employed (but was working on my own project) for quite a bit, about 6 months while in OPT, and finally I got a job offer. I went to canada (ottawa) for visa stamping and I told them that I am starting the job in a month. As I wasn't working for the company at the moment, the consular(a black lady, who happened to be very nice) said I don't need paystubs or tax returns if not working for that company at the moment.
All she looked at was my H1B approval, my offer letter and my degree from school and the next day I got my visa.
My company wasn't  a consultancy either, it is a small company with about 60 employees and I am their first H1B employee.

Not everyone's case is the same and not consular is as nice, but I gave it a try and it worked well for me.

Best of luck.
