I think the issue of underrepresentation of various ethnic groups in Nepal is true and needs to be addressed... but no offense but I repeatedly find Mr. Jha with a profoundly inflated ego and just too much hype and very little substance...

I agree with you. Ethnic division is a big but it is bad politics. When people are divided based on ethnicity the country will never come together. It is not about ethnic representation it is about ethnic revelry which will lead to the ultimate doom of the country. shiv

it is really bad. What is he talking is that Hindi has to be necessary in nepal? How many person in Nepal speak in hindi? म मधेसमा नेपालि को नाता ले के भनछु भने यसता मानछे हरु. नेपालि राजनिति मा आउदा दुरगामि असर परछ'। i still can't forget Gajendra Narayan, who used to talk same way as This guy. Who can't even talk in their national language and doesn't know how many population is in their country, what do you wanna say that person.

Paramendra Bhagat's quote from http://demrepubnepal.blogspot. com My Role In The Democracy Movement I am the one with the best ideas, from the US to Nepal. Period. I have a proven track of leadership. I have a plan. I am plugged into a large network. I am right there at the center of it all. But there are Pahadi pretenders to whom I am invisible. At a personal level I don't really care. They are largely irrelevant to my idea of who I am. But I do make a point to take offense on behalf of 13 million Madhesis.

Keep rolling...

"The ugly voice of ego at its best." Dear freedom-fighter, You have mentioned about Gandhi's rail-trip in South Africa, the birth of his passion for justice.Even until end of his life he has admitted about the inner-satan he had to battle on the everyday basis.I think you should work on that part first before making pointless statements inciting hatred among brothers and sisters with false statistics. To peace, prosperity and harmony among us, Cheers!!!

Wow - what an angry man! :) He raises some very valid points but his bitterness may make it hard for others to buy into what he has to say. I give him credit for dealing with hot button issues instead of brushing them aside but if his intent is to persuade then he might need to change tact. I enjoyed the videos (and there were times I laughed, I admit)

I couldn't hear everything what he said (plus couldn't stand looking at the face so much..hehe)...but did he say nepali should speak hindi? No way, jose!!!! If he wants that...he should appy for Indian citizenship then.

What an Idiot; He thinks every school in kathmandu shuld have 50% madhise, where only 2% madhise mostly workers (not students) live. He should be looking at schools in terai where he would find more than 50% madhise. I am totally for equality among all nepali, including madhise, kirat, rai, limbu, newar, bahun, chhetri, kamaiya, sherpa, tamang, magar not just one jati. He is a real snake. A person filld with racial hatred in his head will divide a country. I suppose he wants to be a leader. Another poisonus leader?? Nepal certainly doesn't need it. Nepal has 50% madhise population?? I guess he is importing his supporters from Bihar, India sure would help him.

He has valid point with wrong intention. It is not uncommon in Nepal to supress Madhesi and he would have undergone some horrendous bullying experience for which he has so much hatred. He feels more pride in becoming Indian than being Nepali and does not stop bosting some Tom and Hary( his relative was minister in Lalu Yadav corrupt ministry). This guy has potential to lead his community if he has right intention. Sometime blunt honest to confess he is strugling and jobless and almost 10 yrs lagging behind etc. Needs to read more factual data about Nepal. http://www.mope.gov.np/population/chapter5.php. Finaly valid issue with wrong intention to fulfill personel ambition. My best wishes for him if he leads his community in right direction with shear patriotism keeping Nepal and Nepali in best of interest.

It's fair to say -- and this is based on my very limited experience -- that we middle to upper-class Nepalis (and this includes all who visit this English-language site) are such utterly boring conformists (the ones who'd rather chase a string of safe successes for parental approval than take risks that challenge us to the core of our beings) that we have an incredibly LOW tolerance for other Nepalis who: a) do things differently b) think differently c) act differently d) choose to live their lives differently. e) define the words "success" and "happiness" by blazing their own paths on their own terms. Let us not forget that many of history's greatest writers, poets, artists, philosophers, musicians . . were all deemed to be misfits in their own societies before being redeemed as achievers. There are some Nepalis who know exactly what they want to accomplish in life by the age of 10. That's fine. Others are clueless -- though they are afraid to admit it to others -- even till the age of 50 as to what they want to do with their lives. That's fine too. In between, let there be plenty of room for experimentation, plenty of space to make mistakes and to learn from them, plenty of chances to experience the world in all its raw forms, and to live large. Even his worst critics grudgingly accept that Paramendra has a first-rate mind and enormous energy. As someone who's known him since 1996 and have exchanged occasional emails with him, my sense is that: It's only a matter of time before Paramendra finds something in which he will go on to do so damn well that he will leave us all breathless with genuine envy and pride. [A brilliant mind is NOT an easy mind to live with, and I tell you this, after having watched the careers of some of the smartest people I have known.] Meantime, I, for one, am willing to tolerate and give space to Paramendra's thoughts and ideas and to his idiosyncracies, while reserving the right to disagree with them without calling him names or making fun of him. After all, as they say, often, the best way to see the big picture is to step out of the frame --something which, Paramendra has done more than enough in his life so far. I wish him well, and I also wish I had half his energy. oohi ashu

With due respect, by generalizing a fairly large group of individuals "utterly boring conformists" and such, I think Mr. Tiwari might have just been oblivion of individual idiosyncrasies himself. While I can take Mr. Tiwari's words for Mr. Bhagat's "first-rate mind and enormous energy", I cannot second him in promoting Mr. Bhagat's dissemination of information that is excessive in implied hatred, merely based on Mr. Tiwari's acquaintance with him. If that makes me an utterly boring conformist, I guess I will have to live with that.
