Bijaya Kumar is someone I like. But then like all men, he also has a side that I really dislike. To have a glimpse of Bijaya Kumar's pathetic side, it is enough to read the following sentences in the following article:

"राजनीतिक प्राणी कृष्णप्रसाद भट्टराई र आध्यात्मिक साधक किसुनजीका बीचमा हमेसा एक प्रकारको द्वन्द्व रह्यो, तनाव रह्यो, जीवनभर । एउटा संवेनशील मानिसको चेतनाको अत्यन्तै गहिरो तहमा भएको यो 'तनाव वा द्वन्द्व' को तुलना हामीले सामान्यतया बुझ्न, 'तनाव वा द्वन्द्व' शब्दसँग गर्न सकिँदैन । प्रदीप गिरिजीसँग मैले यसै विषयमा, बितेका वर्षमा घन्टौं कुराकानी गरेको छु ।"

Ah, it is about him. It is often about him. What is the relationship between Kishun Jee and " प्रदीप गिरिजीसँग मैले यसै विषयमा, बितेका वर्षमा घन्टौं कुराकानी गरेको छु ।" Who cares what he talks about Pradip Giriji? Bijaya Kumar has to insert himself.

Here is a classic Bijaya Kumar:

"परम्परागत संसदीय प्रणालीका गुणदोषका विषयमा मलाई कसैको उपदेश आवश्यक छैन । राजनीतिशास्त्रका विख्यात प्राध्यापक स्वर्गीय लियो रोजको विद्यार्थी हुँ म ।"
Nobody should write something like that. Btw, does he have a degree in political science? Or was he a short term visitor? Just because he was a student of a dead professor, he should not say something like "I know everything and no one can teach me anything". This statement is very sickening.

but i really liked the following analysis by him....go through the whole piece guys ....and let me know how you think about it.

I do not see any strength on his analysis NepalToUsa. However and whatever be the election system, the elected will be from the amass of corrupted and myopic leaders who are not going to do anything remarkable for the nation. So could not disagree more.

 In case you guys missed it it was supposed to be a piece on KPB. But Bijaya Kumar ended up writing about himself, pushing his own ideas, and lest someone attacks his ideas, he is creating a shield on the like of his professor at Berkeley. This is what it is. This analysis is as hollow as it gets.

Bijaya Kumar had early phase in his life, when he was a hollow, publicity seeking man. Then he morphed into a good thinker. He , I have heard, stopped drinking alcohol and frequented spiritual places. Sometimes I wonder if all that was a front for his desire to preach from a saintly pedestal he is trying to create for himself. Actors, I admit, tend to act all the way to Aryaghat.

I admire Bijaya Kumar for several of his reporting, and despite his flaws, he has a potential. But I was put off by his article on KPB. Who gives a fu(k about Berkeley or Harvard or JNU that people in Nepal seem to make reference to every time they have a chance. Just put the ideas and substances.

I don't understand your argument at all. Frankly, I think your comment is as silly as Bijaya Kumar's.

About BKP, no one can be perfect. At least he has not done anything harm to the country. See his posetive side- I know he some time makes stupid comments- but his program " Mero Jindagi Mero Biswas" brought people like Uttam Sanjyal, Nirmala Gyawali, Pushpa Basnet into limelight.

Once Bijaya Kumar finds out the difference between the Fact based Journalism for eg Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer or the opinion (pundit) based journalism Like Bill O'reilly & Keith olberman, i think he would make a better journalist than what he is. Sometimes BK wants to do the role of both the opinion based and fact based journalist.

If i have to pick the #1 TV journalist in Nepal, it would probably be Bk, but sometimes his arrogance, the fake smiles between the interviews and his Poetic lines are irritating. He used to be more arrogant and ignorant in his earlier days...after that free scholarship in Journalism in USA his tone has changed....he tries to be little different than any other journalists in Nepal. Sometimes in his shows, while trying hard to be different he even shadows the guest.

Unfortunately, he is the best Nepal has at the moment. I hope he gets better and develops himself as an international ranked journalist.

i agree with tiger. aru torpe patrakar haruko tulanama bijaya kumar le padheko chha, bujheko chha. mauka paayeko belama nepali  maatra hoina, sabai humans will beat their drums. and patrakar le ta jaat le nai paayeko aafno drum bajauna. if you don't like his style or writing, presenting and expressivity, that's your problem. but if you are to enlist leading, quality journalists in nepal, bijaya kumar will make the list.

 Reading comments from people such as Pichas (what an appropriate name) makes me realize that BK is actually a good journalist for the mass composed of people like them.

Anyone reading my note knows that  I haven't compared BK with other journalists. This is not even a point here.My focus is on irrelevant name dropping.Some jerks here immediately defend him by saying he is better than Dhamala. Haa. It is not even clear to these jerks whether they are defending BK or not.

Some one even had the gall to tell me that I shouldn't publicly criticize him and rather tell this privately. This level of thinking will probably not understand what my criticism is all about. In any case, It is not my fault if you guys don't see the point raised in my postings. In fact, it is clear that BK is a perfect man for the likes of you...

You are making an ass of yourself in a forum, using some funny name, yet you consider Bijaya kumar to be mediocre journalist and think he has potential. You are just acting to know things and act smart. But your intellect is undermined by every other statement you make and you yet come at others posters so aggressively; I can see where you come from. I might be stupid not to guess that you are the only one in your whole family to get a college degree, and a US degree too. Your parents must be proud of you and being the only one to go beyond eigth grade; even if I were in your shoes I would think myself as being smarter than others and Bijaya kumar would be pathetic..
