I too was a student of ASCol in 88/89 period. Morning shift, I don't remember clearly but I was probably in Bio group because there were almost no girls in Physics group.

I am ashamed that I have forgotten most of my friends' name from that time. Those I remember are as follows:

Lhakpa Sherpa from Solokhumbu (Ktm ma Royal Palace ko pachadi dera)
Prem Subba from Paachthar (Ktm ma Mali-gao - Mahendra Bhawan pachadi - dera)
Naresh Gupta from Indrachowk (his family owned Suga Mashi and stationary pasal)
Yadav Kharel (I think it is Kharel) from Damak.

There were also two good friends from Dharan. Last names of both were Rai, but their first names illudes me.

Bunch of us even went to jail for a night because we got into a fight with Milan Gurung of Ring Road (aka Milan Chakre).

Gautam, I met Kumar after the accident, His situation was more horrible than you could imagine. He was in his room, learning English alphabets. I felt sorry to him. We used to say " Solti " to each other and used to play volleyball, but after that accident, he was not able to know anybody including his friends. I am not aware of his situation there after But I heard, he was taken to BKK for the treatment during UML period. Hope,he is better now.

During our time 97-2000, i have seen him visiting ASCOL. Tendy has carried him.
He is very poor in recognizing people. just hai to all.
He looked like paralyzed person don talk much and just smiling face.

Kumar Gurung ko testo dardnaak kahani malai thaha thiyena. I wish he will recover from the situation soon. Although I was Ascol student long before Kumar Gurung's time, I saw and heard about him. He was chela of Dinesh DC of my time. I know how DC was and is. We survived from fatal attacked from him and his gundas ( so called Akhile at that time). For Student Kumar might bhaladami, but I had seen different image than bhaladami.

Rahul Dai,Are you talking about Dinesh DC who used to direct some teleserial?Was he really gunda?I don't know much about him personally but was quite good at direction.

Dinesh DC is/was a villion of ASCOL. He is married now but still having affair outside his marriage. One film actor committed suicide and almost died.
He was a bad man then.

Yes. I heard about that case about Dinesh DC. Actress Puja Lama (i think) took poison to kill herself after Dinesh DC refused to marry her despite earlier commitment. While he was having affair with that actress, he was already a married person for more than a decade. In the mean time, he was giving some kind of mental torture to his wife too.

Dinesh D.C. was very cunning. He actually was not Akhil himself. He used student union to be more popular. If I am not wrong,one time he even ran for vice president in FSU election. But later during 2046 Jana andolon, he turned out to be more mandale. He even organized a cultural program by himself successfully.
He used to live in Hostel. No one in the hostel was had the opportunity of getting electricity in the day time except him. I think, no one was allowed to bring girl in the Hostel. But I had seen her girlfriend couple of times in the Hostel. Zoology teacher ( I forgot his name) was the hostel warden, he had provided every facilitiy in dinesh DC's room. That was the time when dinesh had just started his career in TV show.

Dinesh DC ra Kumar Gurung bhanda badhi interesting kuro haru chhan, ASCOL KO yaad ma. Lets talk about them. Nepali ko teacher thyo ni naam chai Batuk, thar yaad bhayena, sunko daat bhaako, ekdin sir le Nepali ukhkhaan tukka padhaudai hunhunthyo, example haru dinus na bhandaithyo ( nEPALI CLASS ma khoob English ghusaune baanithyo) mero paalo maile ni bhandiye euta ukhkhaan " Hissa Budhaa ko sunko Daat" Jhndai mareko budha le. Assessment ma ni jamma jammi 17 matra diyo budha le.

Yagya Nath Sharma was the then hostel warden and zoolgy teacher. He was also warden when i entered ASCOL Hostel. He was later replaced by Rishikesh Nepal (math teacher). I heard Rishikesh also left warden afterwards as some 'Jandyaha' BSc students like Shiva sitaula gave hard time to his personal and family life.

Batuk Bista was chairman of Nepali instruction committee when i was there. He didn't teach us though. Laxmi Kanta Panthi was our Nepali teacher.

I remember that I did not understand the words came out from a Physics teacher on my first day of class. Forgot his name... some Shrestha...Yogendra??? I only understood the word "projectile" in the first time I was in his class.

I was in one sided love with a girl in my class. She never knew about it and does not know now either.

The great thing being an ASCOL almuni is that you get another ASCOL graduate almost everywhere. I also happen to be ASCOL graduate - 2052 batch (Physical Group).
