There was this gentleman and a lady downstairs from "Deloitte" at corporate fin. dept. while I went to drop some paper and while I was typing the mundane imagination agi, those aftereffects just came forth. Now Arthur Anderson was the "Big Daddy" of them all not too long ago until their carelessness and utter lack of professionalism sunk them to bottomless pit.

An "Arthur Anderson" of heartland
Welcoming destruction
Completely aware
Playing golf
Destroying balances
Taking my chances,
But reckoning
Deloitte will take over..."

The last two stanzas reflect eh reality as of now, and the stanza makes a compact reflection of ENRON - Arthur Anderson fiasco. They were smartest people on the business with name, fame, credibility and were a revered entity in their business.

They welcomed their own destruction, became oblivious and went playing golf with Enron people, and instead of playing auditors they were partners in crime, destroyed truck loads of paper and took a huge chance which is why Sarbanes-Oxley is killing their siblings in their field and the lesser mortals.

Note: I am using my prerogative to elaborate on the piece :)

Thanks. To be honest, the second half of the post is something I am more or less satisfied, i.e, Deloitte, AA etc. Brought smile to my face afterwards.

I am in accounting too. May be we can share info regarding CPA test and other certifications. I am planning on taking the test and buying a review course. If we have more people we can open a discusiion thread where information could be shared to create a synergy. It will also be platform for other accounting and wanna be accoutning students.
