Can anyone give me an idea about how we can develop our country like Japan,Korea or Singapore? What these countries were few decades ago is known to everyone. Most of the ideas shown by the Politicians and Economists till date is camouflage in a way or the other. There must be one truth and only one truth that is fit perfectly in Nepelese context as Politically and Geographically. Should we wait another few decades then sombody comes forward with a vision that fit to Nepalese ground?

The latest information here by Priyadarshani is also relevant in the other thread titled "top 3 schools/colleges in Nepal". One can imagine from this sample how much potential is there to develop....

In reailty.... Nepal consitution, law and order must be truly Democratic. All Nepalese tribes must get equal oppertunities in Education, Government Employments, Civil Rights and Equal oppertunity to participate in Seven Nepalese political parties Equally. No more Chettris and Bahuns Rules....that is Racism Discrimination....

I do not see in reality.....and fact figure... You tell that Nepalese youth can do better than Oldies.... No.... Look at Young Nepalese youth only know how to do party and fun. These young people more corrupted than Oldies. Oldies do not know other things. That is why they stuck no where. But youth Nepalese know all loop hole that how to do crimes and corruption more and deeply. We need Good people who are more responsible, wise and turstworthy with dignity.

My government will make the following arrangment: 1. Nationalize all property of the royals (allow me to privatize Himani Shah) and decendants of Prithvi Naray Shahs and Junga Bahadur Rana to the last paisa. It alone should pay off the construction cost of 50 more major highways,13 more Universities, 15 more hospitals, ten more airports all inclusive. 2. Education is the key to success. Make it a point to provide free education up to high schools (10+2). (It sucks the state fund, but if we can give loans to students on some contracts so that after they finish 10+2 they gradually pay it back, it might be a less of a burden to the government compared to the free education.) 3. Forget about forced labour or child labour until we become a developed country. All who can will be given a job. 4. Transport systems are a must for economic development. Build all kinds of roads, ways, airports etc at any cost. If loans are needed, take them at any cost for transport systems. 5. Clean water for all nepalese. Take loans 6. Death penalty to misusers of state funds and bribe takers of amount over Rs. 49000.

Sounds like the American or British di**cks have gotten too many credits for too long. You need to learn from history ... they will use our country like they have used our girls and then trash it like our girls .. I guess they call it white trash! Funny thing is these white trash are the ones who praise their previous landlords! I don't want ot hear such a thing ... a foreign government like Brits or Yankies running our country. I'dn't let Indians run Nepal unconditionally, let alone those firangies.

To develop Nepal.. first develop yourself. Make yourself a money machine.. use that money to help yourself (educate yourself), your family or someone in need who is worthy of help. This is pretty simple... and stop talking and worrying about Nepalese politics... There is no need to develop Nepal.. develop yourself first. Then only you can be any help to the motherland we all love. We can talk years and years to come (probably your whole life) about politics but what matters is MONEY..... "There is no philosophy with empty stomach" I forgot who said it.. If you call me selfish.. I dont mind because I have heard this from my mom when I was seven.

This is the most interesting subject I have ever encountered in sajha. In fact, I was thinking of starting thread related to this subject. I agree with Avatar that Money plays a major role in the course of developing Nepal. (I just want to pinpoint Nepal at this time). Lets forget about political parties, Maoist or present government, they are just the bunch of leeches trying to suck whatever is leftover…I dun even want to go there…. But let’s talk about us, sajhaites…how about us? Instead of whining and cursing others (who are not even worthy to curse) why can’t we do something…remember every thing is possible…lets be optimistic…. We dun have to be rich to give either $10.00 or $ 20.00 every month. Just try to save 10 bucks from our monthly budget. I guess there is good flow of ppl in sajha. Instead of whining, lets set an example..and hopefully we can inspire more ppl to do something for the country. I understand it gonna take a while to implement the ideas. Atleast, we can share optimistic ideas rather being a pessimistic. I am not just barking here…I will be proud active member to make a/any difference in Nepal. Atleast we can stop more students falling from the Rangay Cliff. Aneesha

Collection money to help Nepal or Help Nepalese ..... is just a good dream unless you have gutts to do it or you want to devote life seriously on it. Otherwise do not even start. Because.... there is so many criminals and corrupted Nepalese around the world. you just can not pin point one or two or three. 90% Good and honest living Nepalese can not come to foriegn lands. Those whoever went to foriegn land 90% are belong to high level national criminals and corrupted Nepalese family. Do you think "If you give Army training to Bin Laden, and he will obey you."

There are several issues to be addressed before we can have developed Nepal. A couple of points to be noted: Sustainable peace: no country can prosper if uncertainty prevails in the country. Mob rule in Nepal has to stop. For this, we need changes from the grassroot level. Just see the protests against the hike in Petro prices. Yes, we are poor but we cannot do anything with the rise in petro prices because we don't determine their prices. Perpetual subsidization of prices isn't possible. Read this article for a brief info on the Nepalese mentality: http://dreamnepal.wordpress.com/2006/06/21/mob-rule-still-prevails-can-this-government-handle-violent-masses Maoists problem has to be solved. Businesses need a threat-free environment to operate freely and boost employment in the country. Unions should be realistic.Issues related to this topic can be found in the following articles: http://dreamnepal.wordpress.com/2006/06/25/multinationals-closed-in-nepal Education is an importand determinant in employment creation. Though there isn't a detailed analysis done so far regarding the role of education on growth of economy, it is assumed vital. Private education should be promoted and in areas where private boardings dont open up, public education should substitute. Finances: We do get a lot of aid every year but it fails to deliver up to our expectations. So, corruption control is vital if we want to prosper. http://dreamnepal.wordpress.com/?s=corruption Furthermore, we do not lag behind because we don't have money. We lag behind because we don't know how to put the money we have in a good use. Remittances have a great role to play in our economy if we can tap them well. Most of it has been spent in consumption goods (80% of remittances goes to it) and most goods are imported. We are already into luxury when we could have invested and created employment and at the same time added to our retirement funds. So, there should be a good environment so that people can invest. Regarding role of remittances visit here: here: http://dreamnepal.wordpress.com/?s=remittances Promote what we have. Tourism is one of those. We do not have edge over technical stuff, so we can focus on garments among others. Globalization does help but we need to be careful. Read the section on Globalization, Poverty Reduction, Employment Creation-Lessons From Africa on the same site. Limited government interference on business. We should allow businesses to operate in a free environment. This will boost employment-consumption demand-demand for labor-again employment. This cycle can repeat only if those employing have better expectations. Expectations can rise when there is peace, limited govt.role and so forth. All of these articles are short and found in the following site: visit: http://dreamnepal.wordpress.com

I have no idea how to make Nepal like Japan or Korea but I'm surely know how to make it look like Singapore. Just bring in the former Mayor of Kathmandu PL Singh.

Another great way would be to lease the entire country for few decades to some multi-national corporation from the developed nation like Japan or Germany or the United States. Lease it to Wal Mart or Exxon-Mobil or Microsoft or Toyota.
