Bijaya Kumar is someone I like. But then like all men, he also has a side that I really dislike. To have a glimpse of Bijaya Kumar's pathetic side, it is enough to read the following sentences in the following article:

Ah, it is about him. It is often about him. What is the relationship between Kishun Jee and " प्रदीप गिरिजीसँग मैले यसै विषयमा, बितेका वर्षमा घन्टौं कुराकानी गरेको छु ।" Who cares what he talks about Pradip Giriji? Bijaya Kumar has to insert himself.

Here is a classic Bijaya Kumar:

"परम्परागत संसदीय प्रणालीका गुणदोषका विषयमा मलाई कसैको उपदेश आवश्यक छैन । राजनीतिशास्त्रका विख्यात प्राध्यापक स्वर्गीय लियो रोजको विद्यार्थी हुँ म ।"
Nobody should write something like that. Btw, does he have a degree in political science? Or was he a short term visitor? Just because he was a student of a dead professor, he should not say something like "I know everything and no one can teach me anything". This statement is very sickening.

 1. When Bijay Kumar used to run a programme in NTV in his initial days his twang used to be criticised by most. Later his style of narrating became popular and TV journalists even started to copy this in their presentation.
2. I liked his series titled ' Mero Jindagi, Mero Biswas'.

To others, I didn't judge Bijaya Kumar's overall journalism, neither did I rank him among our journalists. I showed exactly where the article drifts away from being about KPB and being about himself. 

And the only reason why I commented about Bijaya Kumar's article is because he is among the best journalists in Nepal. Tons of other garbages are there about which I don't bother to comment.

In simple words the disagreement I had on your statements in the first posting is I don't think Bijayakumar's writing deserve the word 'pathetic' simply because he wrote about his professor in it.

To be honest, I think you were wrong but you are unwilling to admit it. Pire even started his first posting by saying that he liked Bijaya Kumar. I mean that was his first statement. Then he went on to say that he was offended by two statements. I think he is right on money on both those.

I can understand people like Pichas being mean, but I thought you were one of the sane guys around. Just admit your mistake and let sanity prevail, man. And you did mention Dhamala as an illustrative analogy.  And you asked him to write email to Bijaya Kumar and so on, which didn't make sense to me either.

To others, what can I say. People understand according to their own ability. I have written everything pretty clearly. I disagree with people dropping names (Like Leo Rose stuff above), and I particularly, dislike when people insert non sequitirs in their articles (like the Pradip Giri episode in BK's writing). There comes a time when people should be mature, and try to convince others using their own argument, rather than using their association.

I just saw this topic..interesting. Interesting in one regard, I have always had mixed feelings about Bijay Kumar. Like kishunji, Bijay Kumar's personal ego and his journalism are contradictory and often comes together and jeopardizes his image. He does it every now and then. Bringing up his personal experience in such a way that it over shadows his excillence in true social journalism. To be honest I haven't read the complete story. However, it is not terrible of him to bring his acheivements/ links to this article. The core of the article " direct election of the national leader or President of the state" is one of the utmost importance in nepali politics. The democracy we have dreampt of for nepal neither similarizes with the biggest democracy of the world, India, nor with the "true democracy" of america. " Constituent assembly" is in a verge of the establishing itself as one of the biggest mistake in nepali politics. You might ponder why? We had enough of corrupts leader. We just added some more by constituent assembly. When we are mentally prepared for independent states and provinces, it should be backed by direct election of the president. 

What wrong did Bijay Kumar do by linking his acheivements/ experience?
- Bijay kumar is a journalist of NEPAL, so, no doubt he is like all Nepali. He is the one who started ' hardline journalism'. Asking direct questions with unbiased agendas. It brought him some penultimate critisism and we started seeing a rather softer Bijay kumar. Life is a learning process and so did he. BUT, unlike many journalist who jumped to a  flag, became press advisors and even the information ministers, Bijay never TRIED to acheive anything but a bigger public image from what he had already established. You might say he didn't get it because of his "pachyderm". This is not true as he has mentioned about "offers" many times in his articles.  His views are out of the frustations like many of us. It's a simple tone " you don't need to teach me". How did he wrong? 

Why do we need  a "direct election"?
- From past few days, I have been watching headlines " hetauda industrial estate is closed due to threat by salikram fraction of Maoist labour association" and the cause " THEIR INTERNAL DISPUTE". Today i read another headline " Baburam was forcefully deplaced by another vice chairman Narayankaji in a district committee inaguration program under the influence of Chairman Prachanda. Where the hell in the world you vandalize neighbors house when you had fight with your wife? Moreover, were those 17,000 dead because Prachanda/ Narayankaji/Baburam or whoever would be president or prime minister? 
This is just an example, we have seen plenty of internal politics in other parties too. You have a right to say ' it's obvious in politics'.  
No my friend, we need to stop it to bring a stable government. We need a direct election to put somebody in that chair who we like, majority of nepali like. If nepal wants Baburam, we need to have system which would bring him in our Leadership. For years we have been forced to accept the leadership. It should be over. It should be over for a stable goverment and sovereign nation. If we build capacity to elect who heads us, no one, not even india or america can topple our government. Stable government (2047 to 2051) had given us some glimpse of goverment. Foundation of current information and technologies achievment were built then.  Our politics and national structure started shaking after 2051 and in it's worst now. There should be some punishing side in the politics too and I believe direct election would give us that opportunity.
