Gallant, Somewhere in Nepal, in our backyard, there is some kind of tribe where it is considered normal for a woman to marry multiple brothers, but i believe it was rather because of economical needs, as much as it was cultural thing. This, I read in a published article. Thus, polyandry does exist, forget about other societies - but in our very own backyard. However, the article also noted that, slowly the villagers are avoiding it little by little. And in another place, this too in our backyard, the entire village offers their females for a price re. I do not know what category we shall put it as. Perhaps "economical and educational failure" category? Basically, + personally what I believe is, in general, the stronger the male dominance is, the more prevelant polygyny is - case in point - muslim culture. But how often have we seen, a male marrying second female without even divorcing the first one? We are still fighting for "citizenship rights in mother's name, and that, in my book, do not give us much face to point fingers at muslim culture - not that you were. Hoina ta? But Dropadi was a lucky woman, if you would ask me ;). If I was born then, she probably would have had to marry 5 pandavs. :p Re kya;) IndisGuise:)

Gallant, You do have a point. At the end of the day, nothing satisfies my hunger better than Dhal and Bhat. However, we have to learn to embrace other cultures. At the end, relationship is between two people. If they understand and love each other, they will live happily. IndisGuise, I was thinking about the idea of coaching a family team and have them play against each other. It would be awesome. But again it made me think of other things. 12 kids- Woman has to maintain her body. I think it will be torture for her to try to loose all that baby fat after the pregnancy. I love kids, i think they are gift from god but again 12. And you earned some cool points for sticking up to monogamy. and Dropadi was one lucky woman.

its a relative thing hiona ra? i think and u think its sick and ugly from our cultural perspective, but some people (both husband and wives, or wife and husbands) are perfectly happy with thier little situation. so if they are happy, what gives us the right to judge them and tell them they are "sick"?

ma chameli, Actually US born keti haru usually Hatti jatra hunchan bhneko po. dekhna ta arupani dekheko chu..... Ani embracing or assimilating other cultures takes time, we are just like a salad blow now, but our 1st generation- kids might copy their native culture pretty easily wherever they born. polygyny: yes, I know it was exit before we or our parents born. My great- grand father married to 2 wives too. I notice polyandry culture is weird, I guess it still partially exits in Muslim culture and somewhere in Ethiopia or Africa. I don't see two brothers marrie same wife in our county. What ever MSG you have posted above.

You can easily know the activity of US born ketihau very easily just like a Hatti moving here and there. They don't hide even if they go with other for sex(?), which is better than not knowing such activities at all. So, I prefer hatti.

I had a email conversation with a family as a result of this thread. So, I would say it can work better than matrimonials.
