Best things in life are FREE. A mother's love. A lover's embrace. Clean, crisp air in the Annapurna region. And Sajha.com That is why, as you do for your public radio stations, community museums, public libraries, and other non-profit entities that add to the quality of your life, why not take a moment to add Sajha to your "must give presents to in this festive season this year" list? Give what you think is reasonable. Give from the heart. Give on your own -- any amount will do, yes, any amount. Give liberally. Give for the continuous upkeep and betterment of Sajha's IT-related infrastruture. Give to get enjoyment. Give as a member of this community. Give. Here's a message from the Web Master -- San -- that I think is worth amplifying: **** "Where else do you find FREE Nepal related entertainment and information like in sajha? As you can imagine, there are costs associated with maintaining a site as big as this. Be it in bringing state of the art chat servers or be it in granting access to high speed internet connection with the most upto date servers to keep your sajha experience fast, fun and continuous, sajha has always been there 24/7. I have been informed that because of steep bandwidth consumption, the cost of hosting sajha is going to be higher than before. Would you like to make a little contribution to show your support for the site and to ensure that the site is able to continue its services to provide you with a sajha cyber chautari where you can discuss, learn and enjoy at any time? If you spend a lot of time in sajha, and if sajha has provided you entertainment and valuable information, then now is the time to show your support to sajha. - http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/openthread3.cfm **************** Best things in life are free. Your generosity will help make Sajha free for you, your friends and thousands more Nepalis who have yet to discover it in months and years ahead. Thank you. oohi "no, I am just a contributor like you" ashu

Dear all, i have been visiting sajha for few months now. I saw this thread, and I was like hey what is going on. I really think that the person who have posted the thread after posting that had done the job. He/she does nto need to say anything if someone did not agree ro someone wants to see the balance sheet of "sajha" before giving "substantial" (i like to beleive that) contribution (money) to sajha. By replying ( he/she may call it clarifying but it was something else going on as well) he/she really undid what was meant to be done. It is just my peronal thought but i would not even think about giving even a cent (forget the dime) to sajha where all this stuffs of discussion and use of grey cells is going on in such trivial matters. And oki about sajha giving the information, entertainment and blah blah....what do u think sajha.com is the only one. in the internet that is doing that and "free" come on guys. Please one just one people say or convince me that sajha is doing a great favor and sacrifice, i will not visit sajha anymore. there are other sites as well as far as i know. And someone mentioned Mr. San could have become millionair/ billionair if he put the effort he/she put on the sajha in something else. Do u know how rediculus it sounds? my question would be why didn't he earn those millions/billions and do much more for the target community. i do not mean to point fingers at anyone here. but please guys grow up, and use youe grey cells in something else, and i have to agree all of u in most parts do have soem logic..just use it in other "useful" things. I have something to say about raising money as well, but maybe later. Just a suggestion if sajha is so desperate just think about having to pay to be a member.

It's good to wake up this morning, visit Sajha while sipping ekdam mitho tato, tato milk chiya, and see that the list of "givers to sajha" has GROWN. That's the way to go. As one of the many well-wishers of Sajha, I am happy. THANK YOU all for your SUPPORT to Sajha. Those who have not made up your mind about giving, please do consider giving. Now is the best time to give. Thank you Sirish and others for your kind words. As for the attacks on me, well, you know, these things happen in Nepal and among Nepali communities, and that's life. Let us not forget that the Nagarkot Kanda happened because one sepahi felt that he was slighted by the villagers. Unfortunately, that sepahi's actions pretty much sum up the extent of our collective emotional control when it comes to dealing with disagreements and differences. But hopefullky, we will live and learn. Have a good a day, everyone. I have a super-busy week ahead. Now back to my chiya, and some CNN, before the call of work beckons! Thank you. oohi ashu

Please tell me (not ashu) why is this anyway related to that nagarkot incident. Now i think someone is really sick or do not care what other people are saying or why they are saying. And do not mistake some comments as attack on u. they may be attack on what u say or rather how u say.

Just another boring, stupid, if a bit irritating and annoying (I know, I know, I know -- we've been through all that . . . and really sorry for harping on this again!!) REMINDER everyone . . . give what you can to Sajha. The request remains simple and earnest: "If you spend a lot of time in sajha, and if sajha has provided you entertainment and valuable information, then now is the time to show your support to sajha." Give a little. Give a lot. Support this democratic public institution. THANK YOU to those who have contributed; others who have been meaning to give, but have not gone around to do so, now is the time to give. Yes, posting this sort of message repeatedly is a lousy, thankless job. BUT, but and but as someone who, like most of you, passionately believes in the inherent goodness of free-flowing and openly available diverse public conversations (the very foundations of democracy, to paraphrase Nobel economist Amartya Sen from another context), I do believe that institutions such as this Web site are worth your financial support. Many thanks for understanding. oohi ashu

It is good to give and people who can should contribute. BUT, as some people said how this site is free and how so many people uses it for free...I have just one word for them "DUMB". It's free that is why so many uses it... if it was a pay site no one would be here. And for you kind information .. tell me one forum site (except those professional help forums) which you have to pay for to use it. There are millions of forum and discussion site. But, this site is doing good and it is for a good cause so contribution is not a bad thing. So, don't give me that crap about being free and we should help cause its free. Why the hell there are hotmail, yahoo, gmail.. all those free emails... so why not give them money too... don't you think they are doing good too??

>>>Why the hell there are hotmail, yahoo, gmail.. all those free emails... so why not give them money too... don't you think they are doing good too?? Harey!!! Pravu!! No comments at all!! :D It's a call for donation pravu, a small contribution. What part of "donation" is so hard for some people to understand. If you wanna contribute, go ahead, make Sajha's day. If you don't wanna contribute, there are thousand other threads where one could chill out and enjoy sajha experience. Simple!!! Katti Bheja fry. eh.

Hotmail is now run by Microsoft Corporation. Yahoo ko market capitalization runs in billions of dollars. Gmail's father is Google.com, the planet's most exciting company with tons of cash. You can surely give money to any of those companies, but I doubt that they would appreciate your 5 to 10 to 20 dollar ko contribution. In contrast, Sajha.com -- started as a volunteer activity in 1999/2000, grown organically over the years, bringing diverse news and views and DEPENDENT on users like you and me and 1000 others for content and usage -- is a small-scale work, worthy of ANY support you can give. That's all. Thank you for givimg. Do consider giving if you have not given already. oohi ashu ******

This thread is all about a REQUEST. If the request sounds sincere, honest, authentic and credible to you AND if you are in a position to give, then, give. If not, then, hey, don't bother: continue to enjoy what's here. It's that simple, yaar. No need to get all agitated, cynical and emotionally roiled up. Meantime, in this festive/holiday season, a big package of THANKS to all contributors whose donations AND San's voluntary work for making it possible for us all to continue to enjoy this useful, informative, amusing, entertaining publicly-available resource. oohi ashu

ASHU i think you didn't read my post properly. Did I said we should be giving those corporations any money? I was giving the "free mentality" an example of how there can be so many things that looks free but not the cause for contributing. Anyways, as you also know there is nothing like a free lunch in america. ;-)

Well, Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail have Upgrade package for $19.95 per year or some $$$ per month for extra facilities. Their free emails are their investment, you understand? Investing in self advertisement.
