Is transit VISA required for HongKong? I will be going to Nepal and have 10 hrs. in Transit at the HongKong Airport. I have heard mixed answers so far - some say yes and some say no, do you guys know for sure?

No , you dont require Transit Visa in Hongkong ,If and only if you have 10 hours transit.

I had the same route when i went nepal in jan2008.

Also, If you are flying through Cathay pacific and from HKG -KTM by Dragon air THEN YOU DONT NEED TRANSIT VISA IF you are flying through other airlines m not sure.

I too had about 10 hrs (13 to be exact) of transit but I was asked for transit visa, I guess I paid around ( 1800 Nrs ). But, I had others in the same flight who didn't. I heard that, it's important to have visa if you are going  or planning to visit places out of Airport otherwise not.

So I am too not quite sure about it either. But I did pay. So you better check properly !

Hi guys I'm also going through HKG KTM and have 13hrs Transit and have same question. As i found, if you have through ticket from Cathy pacific to dragon air(remember only dragon air) you do not required visa but if you have another airlnes beside dragon air then you need visa even for half an hour transit.

This is to promote dragon air. Tell your travel agency to give you print out that show we did not required visa.

hey guys seems there are lots of people going via HongKong this summer.

I am too going on 21st Jun via Hong Kong (Cathy-Dragon) and returning on 12th Jul. It cost me 1620. I am not sure if that is a good deal.

Hope to catchy u on flight if anyone of you traveling on same dates.

 

I am getting mine for 1550..I guess it is a good deal, but 15hrs flight from LA to HK sounds horribly long!! BTW, thank ya'll for your suggestions.
