Hi Sajha experts,
I am US Citizen and my girlfriend is here in US. How long does it take to get her green card once I do court marriage? Do I have to get a lawyer or It can self done?

Mrpig, As per my experience, you don’t need a lawyer. You can start all the paper works on your own.. if possible file all the form together so that it will be little faster. Forms like I130, i485 etc. just make sure you have all the documents that support your marriage is genuine. If possible have small ceremony at the Temple with your friends and family in order to have some photo proofs. Mrpig No worries. Make sure you take your time to file the form correctly. If everything goes well with your forms and required documents. Your wife should have a date for Fingerprint and Greencard withing 2-4 months. Good wishes to you and your wife. and good luck with the processing God Bless SN
