Hi guys, I have applied for OPT and am waiting for it. I have the i-20 that has the OPT start and end date; also i have a job offer letter from a company. So, based on these two things can i apply for SSN or do i have to wait for my OPT card?

You dont have to wait for OPT card I think. Just take your I-20 and the job offer letter to social security administration and they will issue you one within 14 days.
Congrats and good luck with life ahead.

You might also need a letter from your college's international students office verifying your enrollment and job. Best wishes!!!
