I advise you not to take the LCD TV from U.S. as it will not work in Nepal. The U.S. standard is NTSC whereas we use PAL in Nepal. As far as I know, there are no NTSC to PAL converters available in Nepal.

Nepal mai pau6 ni PAL system vayeko LCD or LED. k khana TV lanu yeah bata?? Airport MA Gulf bata aayeko bhanlaan. Hos gara GORE.

If you add the custom $$ and converter $$ which you need to use LCD TV in Nepal the final price wont be that different.  Plus taking it is one big pain in the a$$.  What I would suggest is to take an Ipad or Iphone4 insteade.  Easy to take and from what I have heard you can make an easy $100 profit selling it.
