Hi dear sajhaites n geeks,
I have a simple question for you. I already have an iphone 4 and its time for me to upgrade to 4s. Frankly, i don't need 4s n i m thinking to send to nepal. But i am on verizon n I'm wondering if it will work in nepal for ntc? For iphone 4, one of my cousins said u need to cut sim or something. Am i just wondering does it work n how complicated is the process to make it work?

I feel like replying to this thread, cause of little Mis information going on. The simple answer for the owner of thread, YES if you are sending 4S. But iphone 4 from verizon wont work for GSM provider. I don't know if there is any CDMA cell provider in nepal or not . For 4S, you need to buy , use it for two month, call Verizon, ask for gsm unlock code for international use, unlock and send it to Nepal.

Some body talking abt Jeremy sim, it is not bull shit, it a real deal. It is hardware based sim unlock. But not sure they support new iPhone 4s with latest IOS . Google it if interested.

iPhone 4S is a world phone ...meaning they are unlocked to international carriers !

Since 4S is both CDMA and GSM capable you can use any GSM carriers in Nepal (but they are locked to the carrier whom you bought from in US)

only thing you have to do is send it with micro-sim adapter or cut the SIM with seissor back home !!

Lol. I think nahcra meant gevey sim!!

The best bet would be to sell from craiglist or ebay and then buy att 4S frm someone.

there is no software or hardware unlock for iOS 5 so no question about gevey sim unlock as well .

http://iphonehelp.in/2011/11/02/are-att-sprint-iphone-4s-unlocked-in-us/

they claim it is unlocked here for US as well but i doubt. It will work in Nepal though !

edit : you did not mean 4s (plural right ! no CDMA phone will work in Nepal as Juggy said  ) i was refering to 4S not 4s

No unless Verizon becomes generous enough to unlock gsm part of the iPhone. However, it has been confirmed that despite being a cdma provider like Verizon, early iPhone sold by Sprint are international unlocked.

meraj's response is the real one. Yeah, you need to call the provider and literally beg for the unlock code, other than that forget about sending verizon 4s to Nepal.
why do they need 4s in nepal anyway, ?

@bittertruth....iphone in Nepal has nothing to do with what it can do, its all about status symbol and flaunting it as a show piece.

Iphone 4s works on both CDMA and GSM network. Do a reserch on the iphone itself. I am pretty sure the new iphone works on both network so that should work in Nepal. Just need to unlock it. ... but don't take my word... call Verizon and make a confirmation.
