Hello TPS Gurus,
I was out of status before TPS. I'm thinking about filing for Advanced Parole while applying for this latest TPS renewal.
I hear mixed messages about risks involved while travelling with AP for people who have been out of status like myself. Do you have any idea or experience?

Found this old Post where guys didn't have any issue. But this is an old Post and travel was probably done in 2016 or early 2017. DHS has probably changed the way they do things since then. Anyone with more recent experience?

@tbuk2 That was my thread :) I did travel to Nepal on July 2017 with advance parole. I had that fear while getting back to US Port of Entry in LA. The inspector did take me to the interrogation room and told me to sit down while he checked my documents. After 20 minutes I was told that I was good to go. So basically that was my experience back in 2017 but if you do not have any criminal history that you should be good to go. Even with recent TPS News, you can travel before the TPS expiration date but you might want to consult with someone else with better knowledge before you travel because of the situation right now.

they will take your passport and parole document with them and escort you to different room just because they need to stamp on ur advance parole. no need to worry about. advance parole is a safe way to get in without any questions. goodluck enjoy nepal.

Yes, AP is the safest way to travel. It doesn't matter what your previous status was. I have seen many people in similar conditions as yours safely came back. I even know people who received deportation letter came back on TPS AP without a glitch.

You will have no problem at all. I just went and came back 3 months ago without any trouble. I was undocumented illegal for 9 years before tps.
