Hey, I am about to join an IT consultancy for QA and BA training which both last 1 and a half month for each. They told me they will place me in a project within a month after the completion of the training. So is 3 month worth training really enough for me to hold a job if i am from a non IT background? The consultancy has a 10k protective clause and will i be liable to pay the sum if i get laid off within a year? ty

lordcornhole, Just wanted to inform you that it is never a guarantee that you will find a job within a month after completing your training. it depends on your luck, yes some will find job in 2-3 weeks or some can go over 3-6 months. Training is just an overview to tell you how company/team works or who the stakeholders are and their duties.. But more importantly, its the knowledge/skill that you gain at the work. Every company has their own way of doing things or the software they use. You might learn one thing but once you get into Company they might use something different. More importantly its moreover how quickly you can adapt the environment and your daily tasks and be a quick learner and complete them before your deadline. also, its never a guarantee that you will end up doing only one project at a time.. you might end up doing 2/3 projects parallel which all depends on the company that hire you. If you go as a BA - company will have corporate base template. make sure you begin with that. If you go as a QA - company will have a specification document loaded in sharedrive, study that document and work through it. Good luck
