I think baburam is some arrogant stubborn dude, full of ideology, but actively lacks the practicality. and its interesting that babu ram is the one of the "liberal" maoists. together with gyane, maoists need to be wiped out

If these bastards dont throw their arms away after the announcement of CA election, they will be wiped out of the country by the seas of people. Baburam must have realised that by now. He seems to be arrogant up to this point but lets see, the real business has not started and the real maoist leader has not spoken!

Babu Ram Bhattarai gave very irresponsible answers to the questions of BBC's Rabindra Mishra. He must realize that people will not accept any kinds of dictatorship! If the maoists keep their tone that high, one day, they will loose all support they got from people and SPA and they will find themselve knowhere. When the king with 100 thousand army had to bow in front of the people's power, what the heck is maoist? Babu Ram jee, you should come to the reality. Unless you have support from people, you can not capture the state just by attacking in retail stations. Babu Ram Bhattarai's interview made me feel that was the Moriarty right when he said that the maoists are making SPA only the ladder? Was Kamal Thapa right that there was maoist infiltration in the movement? He claimed that maoist organized those 18 days protests. If its true, why did they need the cover of SPA if they are capable themselves to topple the government? Babu Ram Jee, wake up! Give up your wild dreams and look the ground for safelanding! Stick to what Prachanda said. He had said that any outcome of the constituent assembly would be acceptable to you folks.

This interview shows the inferiority complex of maoists at this point of history. They have very clearly seen that peaceful movement is far more powerful than their armed struggle. But they don't want to accept that. They want to give validity to their armed insurgency. Though people are still not fully satisfied with the outcome, they will never support maoists. They will not come to streets even if maoists call.

the main thing i got from that interview was: that goddam commie is over-rated! i mean he cannot even answer simple questions, and people make him out to be this great intellectual. maybe its a case of "laato ko deshma gaado tanneri" just kidding... anwyay, i dont want to dwell too much on the interview. once_in_a_while: of course the maoists organized the whole thing. the democratic parties have held rallies in the past. how many people showed up then? a few hundred. this time, it was a few hundred THOUSAND. some claim 20 lakhs. these were not ordinary kathmandu dwellers, but people (not necessarily maoists) hte maoists had sent to the valley. why did the maoists need the SPA cover? simply becauese if it was announced that a bunch of maoists were on the streets of ktm, they would have been showered with bullets, as has been the case in the jungles. now, with the SPA cover, and a few ordinary ktm citizens in the crowd, it no longer looks like a bunch of maoists, now does it? anway, this whole announcemtn is a game. its a bargainign game. in KG's first announcement, he asked for a PM nominee. why did he not agree to reinstate the parliament then? well, because 1) he wanted to get a feel for the situation, to decide home much to concede 2) even if he knew all along, it sounds better coming on TV the second time, cos it makes it look like he conceded a LOT more than he had originally intended, with the hope that it would make the protestors happy. the goddam commies are playing a game. if they quietly come to the table now, they don't come with an upper hand. they want that upper hand when they walk into the constituent assembly, which is why they are making all this fuss. they want some sort of concessions right now, when the bargaining chips are in their favor. it's pretty clear. one reason for this is commie baburam's statements are inconsistent in the interview. he was just trying to come up with lame ass excuses on the fly (that mishra is good) and you can tell that they just devised their new strategy. secondly and most importantly, that pushpe is nowehre in sight. pushpe should have been the one talking. but since its baburame talking now, pushpe can always overrule baburame's statemtns. i forsee the commies and the 7 cronies doing a photo op sometime in the near future.

. exactly but i would like to add something the maoists cant appear to agree for 2 reasons a) the one zalimSingh outlined above b) to pacify the more radical elements within their own cadre i mean, how does it look if the king reinstates the government the maoists were fighting against and now suddenly this time around its all good they have to be able to say 'this is the begining, not the ultimate objective' hence all the posturing

You all are right on the money. That was yesterday... now this: http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=72038 This shows that the Maoist leadership is divided. They seem to contradict each other every day.

What a rude and barbarian this bastard is!!! Doesn't know how to talk or win people's trust... If he continues to talk that way without any softness or sensibility, he will soon lose all his power... People will barren the party... Bastard!! bolna jandaina These maoists are so confused... They don't know what they are talking about... Prachanda comes and says one thing while the other dude pops up and says something absolutely different.. Seems like there is no unity among the party members... I hope that the party divides and start killing each others.

The funny this that some people want Baburam and the Maoists to be whipped out whenever they feel convenient as if the Baburam and the Maoists were/are living under the mercy of SPA and the demonstrators of urban areas of Nepal. They fought hard to build their military organization from the scratch. They are here to impose their will. They did not live and fought in the jungles for a decade to give in to the demands of urban demonstrators. After all they dont have much support in urban areas of Nepal nor do they expect to get fighting men to join the organization form the urban areas of Nepal. It begs a question, "Does it worth anything to listen to the urban demonstrators of Nepal ?' The most probable answer the Maoists and Baburam get is "NOTHING" simply because their lifeline (recruitment of men) is not dependent on urban areas of Nepal. Iit is best in their interest to forcefully impose their will on urban population of Nepal by the sheer force of thier recruits from the remote areas of Nepal.
