Sajha gurus, Do Nepali citizen need UK transit visa when traveling to Nepal from USA via London. One of my friend has H1B paper visa and his route is via London. Also, while returning, does he need transit visa when returning the same route but with H1b visa 'stamped' on his passport? Thanks.

Social, I was not clear on your response. Let me put his situation- 1. He came in F1 visa stamped on passport, which is no longer valid now (i.e. expired) BUT- 2. He is working in H1 visa, and holds valid H1 visa, but not stamped on his passport. Now, does he need UK transit visa while traveling via London ? (no plan to leave the transit). SUPIDA, was your original visa stamped on passport valid ?

I don't know if things have change recently, tara when I went to Nepal in Feb, my visa was expired long back, and I had a 8 hours transit in London. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvnationals Passengers exempt from the DATV requirement

yes. It change recently. Now unless you have valid visa for USA (i.e stamped one) you need to have a transit visa for london. Same thing happen to one of my friend. he was going to Nepla with H1b visa..he came here in F1(which is expire now). he just found out last week and change his ticket.
