Dear Sajha Members,
I am in big trouble right now. I applied to get an admission as a transfer student in one community college and moved to that state. Now that college just told me that my application is rejected as my sponsor (my family) didn't have enough balance in my account at the starting of transcation. Now I don't have enough time to ask my parents to send another financial statement. I am feeling so helpless right now and scared of getting out of status. Can anybody suggest me what will be the best thing for me to do?
Thanks

Do you have or know anyone who can sponser you here in the states? That may be the best thing to do. They just have to show the balance and income!

The school wont start until late January. They can make a statement from the bank saying how much you need in the account of your sponsor. Ask your advisor by emailing her. And make a Balance Statement from a bank. the statement can be printed out the next day. And they can send you or fax you and you can give the advisor a copy untill you get an original one. They should be able to help you out. Jus tell them your problem. Dont be tensed and there is always another option (if in case).

It's not too late to apply for Spring 2012, especially for Community colleges and US-transfer.
Try to find another college or even get papesr from Nepal.
Once, my friend applied for admission as transfer @ NLC ( a dallas county community college). But they asked him a new bank statement, not photocopy, but something in sealed envelope. But then he applied immediately @ BC ( another dallas county community college). with same papers. He got admitted.
Remeber, where there are too many students, college is likley to find faults and decilne admission and they are usually tough on admission process.
Find colleges where no of students are less, especially foreign students.
But no matter what. many college still accepts late admission.
The last option is to go back to your previous college. Your I-20 should be still valid, and your Sevis should be still current.
The colleges doesn't release your sevis until they receive I-20 and request from another college.

Don't worry! Here are your few options:
1. Try to transfer to cheap community college like HCCS, San Jacinto College or DCCS (since they require less amount in bank statement).
2. If you think its too late, you can transfer to a quarter based system university like Louisiana Tech (they offer instate tuition are pretty cheap and take admission in every 2.5 months time frame).
San Jac and Louisiana Tech have a helpful ISO.
